Food items that are discontinued in India

Food items that you will probably never be able to buy again in India -

• Cadbury Perk (Chocolate Flavour)

Cadbury replaced its original chocolate perk with a glucose bar thus discontinuing the original one which in my opinion was much more delicious.

• Cadbury Milk Treat

Back in the day my mother would hide these because I used to eat too many of them, they were so delicious that one just couldn’t eat just a single bar, sadly this was also discontinued.

• Cadbury Ulta Perk

This chocolate’s ad had the tagline “wafer outside, chocolate inside” and had a good following but unfortunately there were many people who didn't like and it didn't sell well and hence it was discontinued, this was suggested by folks in the comments section.

• Cadbury Chocki

These were just pure milk chocolate that you had to suck off the tube and you bet it was delicious.

• Cadbury Dairy Milk Wowie

This was a regular chocolate bar with a Disney character at its centre which was made of milk chocolate, it was really delicious.

• Center Shock

Center Shock along with ‘Time Bomb’ was the sourest candies available in India, although Time Bomb is still available in India, center shock is not and is probably discontinued.

• Nestle Milo

Milo was discontinued in India by Nestle as Boost had more sales than their product. Sometimes I used to eat this milk powder raw without any milk because it was so tasty and in my opinion it tasted better than bournvita.

• Cadbury Bytes

Ever since Kraft foods bought Cadbury, they discontinued some products in India that were not generating them enough profit hence these chocolaty chips too were discontinued in India.

• Lays Chaat Street

Apparently Bingo sold more chips than Lays and Lays had to discontinue this product and introduce other chips to compete with Bingo, its a shame since these chips tasted amazing, were high in quantity and were relatively cheaper at that time.

• Hippo Chips

These were chips that were different in shape from the other chips like Lays, they were popular when they came but couldn’t sell well later on, many new flavours were introduced but they couldn’t please the consumers.

• Cheesy Bites

These were cheesy puffs that came in a yellow coloured packed which had a picture of a dinosaur on it. These were so delicious that I used to take 1 packet everyday as my lunch in kindergarten. Sorry I couldn't find an image for it.

• Goldspot

Apparently these were flavoured soft drinks that were popular among the teens, one could get them at small retail shops but sadly not anymore.

• Campa Cola Beverages

After Coca-Cola came back, Campa Cola became unpopular and its factories were shut down. Some say that they are still available in a few states but no one is really sure. I remember way back I used to drink these beverages after playing cricket at a small retail store near my house and relish its freshness in the scorching heat.
